Monterey Council on Aging
Minutes of February 25, 2015
The meeting was opened at 10:15 am. Present were M. Brown, R. Champigny, L. Hebert, K. Purcell. Julio Rodriquez joined the meeting.
The minutes of February 11th were accepted after a correction.
Mail - SBETC memo of agreement was signed by M. Brown and returned.
Budget – MA Council on Aging dues of $150. were approved. A check of $68. was requested to supplement today’s luncheon at Roadside. 17 people are expected. – SBETC share from Monterey, $ 2,375.00 is drawn from the state grant of $4,000. This formula grant is based on $6.37 per resident over 60 years of age. – The $4,000. was released/deposited by MA Department of Revenue but not showing in the special revenue account #21. -- Cost of coffee supplies, $132. was billed to CoA in January.
Trip – R. Champigny arranged a bus trip to Hyde Park with a guide, lunch and more for Monday, April 6th. The cost is $116. but with CoA help it is $75. per person. 25 people are need to secure the bus.
ADA/Title II - As discussed with M. Makuc at an earlier meeting an Assisted Listening Device for town meeting would help those having difficulty hearing in the town meeting space and encourage attendance. M. Brown contacted Jason Brown who has experience in sound systems. He will look into the process and procedures for this.
Get a call/make a call – When a neighbor who requests this service doesn’t answer 3 attempted calls, one should drive by to check the house or call the police. More discussion is needed on this.
